MEP Design Manager

I am currently recruiting a MEP Design Manager for a tierone General Contractor to be based on a new large scale data centre project inthe Northumberland area. It is a great time to join the business as they aregoing through a very healthy growth phase, with a busy pipeline already inplace for their data centre division and renowned for their career progressionopportunities.

In terms of experience, someone coming from a data centrebackground is advantageous however not a necessity. Project delivery ability,proven track record and background in M&E is essential. You will be workingfor a market leading contractor that operates a diverse business model anddemands modern health and safety and employee engagement practises.

Salary is very much dependant on experience, but there isflexibility for high performers who have successfully delivered large datacentre projects in the past.

MEP Design Manager Responsibilities:

·       Regular meetings with the production team andensuring all technical issues are addressed immediately

·       Manage and coordinate external consultants

·       Prepare technical specifications

·       Liaise with key personnel within the projectteam in preparation of project costing and design works

·       Control the design process, from planningapplication through to project completion

·       Ensure consultants prepare the detailed designby Employers Requirement and Contractors Proposals

·       Manage and review the design development processensuring value engineering and buildability are considered

·       Set up information registers and ensureinformation control is following all relevant procedures

·       Review design development to allow constructionof works to follow safe working practices

MEP Design Manager Background:

·       Over five years’ experience as adesign/technical manager with a main contractor or large M&Econtractor/consultancy

·       Previous M&E experience is essential

·       Profile longevity

·       History of completing projects on time andbudget

·       A degree in Architecture or MEP Engineering

·       Career minded
